Couples Therapy
Whether you're seeking to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate life transitions, or deepen your connection, couples therapy offers a transformative space for growth. Together, we’ll explore the dynamics in your relationship, strengthen your bond, and create new patterns that support a more fulfilling partnership. Couples therapy can be a life-changing journey toward greater understanding, intimacy, and shared purpose.
Whether you’re hoping to improve communication, rebuild trust, navigate a major life transition, or deepen intimacy, couples therapy can help you strengthen your relationship at its roots. In my work with couples, I provide a warm and collaborative space where both partners can feel seen, understood, and supported as they grow together.
As a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate, with over 20 years of marriage myself, I understand firsthand the evolving nature of long-term partnership—the joy, the frustration, and the courage it takes to stay connected through change. My approach to couples therapy in Bellevue is grounded in equality, dignity, and mutual respect. I believe that healthy relationships require both closeness and individuality, and that the goal of therapy isn’t to “fix” one another but to build awareness, empathy, and choice within the relationship.
I integrate the Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help partners uncover patterns of disconnection and understand the deeper emotions driving them. Together, we work to create new patterns—ones that foster secure attachment, curiosity, and growth.
I specialize in supporting couples navigating transitions such as empty nesting, perimenopause, new parenthood, changes in sexual identity or desire, and shifts in faith or religious belonging. These life phases often bring unspoken grief, confusion, or loneliness. Therapy can be a place to explore those emotions, rediscover your connection, and reimagine what partnership can look like now.
My background in systemic therapy means I pay close attention to the cultural and relational contexts shaping each couple’s experience. For many, this includes healing from family or faith systems that emphasized compliance, self-sacrifice, or rigid gender roles over authenticity and mutuality. I hold space for that complexity with compassion and without judgment.
I am a queer-affirming couples therapist and proudly work with clients across the LGBTQ+ community. I understand the unique challenges couples may face around identity, belonging, family expectations, and intimacy within heteronormative or religious systems. My approach centers dignity, equality, and authentic self-expression, helping partners of all identities and orientations build relationships grounded in mutual respect and emotional safety. Whether you are navigating a new chapter in your partnership, exploring your sexuality, or healing from faith-based wounds, this is a space where every story is honored.
Couples therapy can help you find clarity in moments of uncertainty, rebuild trust after rupture, or simply rekindle connection when you’ve grown apart. My hope is to help you both leave therapy with deeper understanding, renewed emotional intimacy, and tools to continue growing together long after our work ends.
If you’re ready to begin, I offer marriage counseling and couples therapy in Bellevue, WA, and online across Washington State.
