Faith Transitions Therapy

Losing, or changing, long-held beliefs can be a swirling combination of devastating, exhilarating, terrifying, relieving, and confusing emotions. The beliefs we hold are pieces of us that can be disorienting to re-arrange… and often, people who once knew us don’t recognize us anymore once we put our pieces back differently after a faith transition.

Brit Hartley, author of No Nonsense Spirituality said it best: “I didn’t want my identity, my relationships, my psychological anchors, my meaning and purpose to die with my faith, but they all did. It was akin to going on an adventure, but instead of willingly like Frodo Baggins, I went kicking and screaming all the way to Mordor.”

There is hope in the healing, and growth in the journey. You don’t have to do it alone. You get to chose your own adventure along the way, and I would be honored to walk the path with you.

I have extensive personal, and professional, experience with faith transitions within Christianity, and especially for those who have a connection to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon). I am a member of the Mormon Mental Health Association (MMHA) and seek to offer ethical, research-based, culturally-competent treatment for any of my clients connected to the broader Mormon experience. I seek to find healing, connection, and repair for those who are navigating relational challenges that come with the transitions on the spectrum of commitment and involvement within the faith and culture.
