Family Therapy
Adult family therapy brings together two or more adults who share a deep, intimate connection—whether parents and children, siblings, friends, roommates, or extended family members. We will explore the relationships and dynamics at play, creating a space for healing, understanding, and growth. Whether you’re navigating challenges, shifts in the family structure, religious transitions and/or differences, healing from trauma, grieving a loss, or seeking to strengthen your bond, family therapy can help create new, healthier patterns that support lasting connection and collective healing.
Family relationships are some of the most meaningful, and the most complex, connections in our lives. Even when love runs deep, old patterns, unspoken expectations, or unresolved pain can create disconnection and misunderstanding. Family therapy offers a safe, structured space to explore these dynamics, strengthen communication, and heal together.
I provide adult family therapy for two or more adults who share an intimate bond—whether parents and adult children, siblings, extended family, or even close friends and roommates. The goal isn’t to assign blame but to understand the patterns that keep your family stuck and to create new ways of relating built on empathy, respect, and authenticity.
In our sessions, we’ll explore how your family’s unique story—its joys, struggles, traditions, and values—shapes the way you communicate and connect. For many families, this includes navigating life transitions, such as launching adult children, caring for aging parents, faith or religious transitions, or the grief that comes from loss, separation, or change. I often work with families healing from trauma or those trying to rebuild trust after years of silence or misunderstanding.
My approach to family counseling is rooted in systemic therapy, which means I view each person not in isolation, but as part of a greater whole. I integrate methods from Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help families understand each member’s perspective while building compassion and curiosity for one another. Together, we uncover the patterns that no longer serve you and develop tools for healthier communication, clearer boundaries, and lasting connection.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring specialized training in relational systems and years of experience helping families navigate sensitive issues with care. My work is trauma-informed, HAES-focused, queer-affirming, and inclusive of faith and identity transitions. I approach every family with the belief that healing happens in relationship—and that change in one person can ripple out to transform the entire system.
If your family is ready to move toward greater understanding and connection, I offer family therapy in Bellevue and throughout Washington State via telehealth. Together, we can create a space for honest dialogue, healing, and renewed closeness—so your family can move forward with greater peace and unity.
